3 Best Things About Wharton and Penn

  1. The diverse community — Students at Penn have so many unique stories to share, and I love learning about people’s different backgrounds, passions, and aspirations. Some of my best friends hail from places like Alaska and Hong Kong and it’s fascinating to see the world from their perspectives.
  2. The exciting opportunities — There are multiple avenues to explore your interests like joining student organizations, taking classes with renowned professors, studying abroad, and attending special events around campus. For example, Authors@Wharton hosted former Disney CEO Bob Iger during my freshman fall, and it was incredible to see him and learn about his journey in the media industry in person!
  3. The fantastic mentors — One of the most insightful components of my college experience is connecting with upperclassmen, MBA students, and alumni. Whether it’s course selection tips from an older friend or career advice from an alumnus, it’s unbelievably easy to find individuals within the Penn network who genuinely want to help you succeed both academically and professionally.

Favorite place on campus?

I might be biased as a Wharton peer advisor, but my favorite place on campus is the Academic Research Building — it’s basically my second home! I love how calm the space feels, which is perfect for studying, and the architecture is simply beautiful. You can catch me working on a team project in one of the many Group Study Rooms (GSRs) or advising students in SHDH 1400, the Wharton Undergraduate Division office!

Why should a prospective student choose Wharton?

If you want a stellar business education, countless extracurricular and professional opportunities, a multicultural community, and life in a vibrant city, there’s no better place to be than Wharton! I chose Wharton with all those reasons in mind, and it was the best decision I ever made.

What would you tell your first-year self?

Not everything will go according to plan — and that’s okay! Do your best, stay curious, and things will work out in the end.

What do you want to do with your business education?

I’m not entirely sure what I want to do, but I hope to pursue a career that allows me to combine my interests in finance, media, and technology. What’s special about Wharton is the flexible curriculum which gives you ample time to figure out what you enjoy and can really take you anywhere.
